Isolated Cardiomyocytes

guinea-pig or human cardiomyocytes

Ventricular cardiomyocytes provide you a good solution to study drug effects on action potential i.e. on ion channels. This in vitro model can be useful for the evaluation of the cardiac safety of newly developed drugs according to the recommendations of the European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products.

Membrane potentials are recorded with the conventional patch-clamp technique using the whole cell configuration in the current-clamp mode.
