PhysioStim: cardiac safety pharmacology
Since 2000, PhysioStim developed electrophysiological models to investigate the potential of compounds to induce cardiac adverse effects.
Our models are based on three techniques:
- Intracellular microelectrode assays: action potential recordings
- Patch clamp in whole cell or perforated patch configuration: human ion channel assays
- Isolated Langendorff perfused heart: ECG and haemodynamic parameters
- Isolated organ bath: contractility

During the study, all decisions result from a close mutual exchange between our clients and our experts.
CDAs are usually signed to ensure total confidentiality.
The design performed for a non GLP study (=“GLP spirit”) is basically the same except for the number of carried experiments, the concentrations tested (according to the Sponsor), whether a vehicle group is used or not and whether formulation of test article solutions performed or not.
